When Harry Met Mollie

PRINCE Harry is desperate to keep his romance with pop star Mollie King a secret because he does not want the pressure of a media frenzy ruining their relationship.

He has agreed with The Saturdays singer to play down reports of their dating and is only meeting up with her behind closed doors.

The pair were said to be last night holed up at a mutual friend’s house in London where they could avoid the glare of publicity after going out on a date at the weekend.

A source said: “Harry saw how tough it was for his brother William and Kate when they first started seeing each other.

“He knows the enormous interest in them drove them apart at one point so he really doesn’t want that to happen to him and Mollie.

“They have both decided to take things easy and not put pressure on their relationship.

“They want to carry on seeing each other but will only do so inside the private homes of a very few close friends who they trust.”

But the truth is Harry, 27, and Mollie, 24, have been out together at least three times before this weekend date after they were set up by his cousin Zara Phillips.

Zara, 30, knows Mollie through her Saturdays co-star Una Healy.

Una is engaged to England rugby star Ben Foden, a close friend of Zara’s rugby-playing -husband Mike Tindall.

Mollie, a former Great Britain skier, has tried to pretend she is not involved with Harry.

In a recent Radio 1 interview she jokingly pretended she was having a relationship with singer Aled Jones rather than answer questions about Harry.

Harry and Mollie are said to have first met at a polo event in Surrey in July 2010 but it was some time before they started dating.

Mollie was in a relationship with male model David Gandy until February this year and only got together properly with Harry after their split.

She has just signed a lucrative contract to become the face of designer fashion label Aspinal, a role which was previously filled by Harry’s ex-girlfriend Florence Brudenell-Bruce.
